Alaska Zero Waste Action Council (AZWAC)

(From RCAC's Alaska Anew's Newsletter):
What started as an idea at the First Annual Recycling Summit, held during the Alaska Forum on the Environment, to form a statewide recycling group has become a reality. The group is now organized and has chosen the name Alaska Zero Waste Action Council (AZWAC). The organizing committee has met several times via teleconference to lay the groundwork for a new statewide association to address solid waste and recycling issues in Alaska. Click here to read more about AZWAC in RCAC's Newsletter…

AZWAC's Mission Statement: "To work together statewide to achieve zero waste by enhancing and promoting resource reduction and recovery programs."

AZWAC's Vision is to see: "All Alaskans actively engaged and living in zero waste communities."

For information on AZWAC's current activities or to find out about joining future meetings or conference calls, contact Roland Shanks at RCAC at 279-1126 or rshanks@rcac.org.
