Alaska Zero Waste Action Council (AZWAC)
(From RCAC's Alaska Anew's Newsletter): What started
as an idea at the First Annual Recycling Summit, held during the
Alaska Forum on the Environment, to form a statewide recycling group
has become a reality. The group is now organized and has chosen
the name Alaska Zero Waste Action Council (AZWAC). The organizing
committee has met several times via teleconference to lay the groundwork
for a new statewide association to address solid waste and recycling
issues in Alaska. Click
here to read more about AZWAC in RCAC's Newsletter…
AZWAC's Mission Statement: "To work together statewide
to achieve zero waste by enhancing and promoting resource reduction
and recovery programs."
AZWAC's Vision is to see: "All Alaskans actively
engaged and living in zero waste communities."
For information on AZWAC's current activities or to find out about
joining future meetings or conference calls, contact Roland Shanks
