GIS/GPS Training
The BIA Geographic Data Service Center (GDSC) offers free GIS and GPS training to federally recognized Tribes. Click here to view the training schedule which includes course information, training dates and locations, and registration information. If you have any questions about the free training, contact the GDSC Help Desk at (303) 231-5120. Trainings are held throughout the country, but the next trainings held in Alaska are listed below. Sign up right away if you are interested in these trainings, because courses are filled on a first come first served basis.

The Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC), and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), sometimes offer free GIS trainings for Tribes. Occasionally the Yukon River Inter Tribal Watershed Council holds GIS/GPS training courses for Tribes. Contact La'ona DeWilde (907) 456-1658 ldewilde@yritwc.com for information.

ESRI offers in-person and on-line GIS courses and seminars throughout the year. Click here for ESRI trainings. Note that their courses are not free.
