EPA Circuit Rider Information

What is the Alaska EPA Circuit Rider Program?

EPA has funded five Circuit Riders for FY06 to offer grants management assistance to Tribes in the following regions: Southeast, Southcentral, Aleutian / Pribilof Islands, Bristol Bay, and the Yukon River. The Alaska Inter-Tribal Council will provide Circuit Rider services to all other Tribes.

The Circuit Riders will receive training from EPA and one-on-one assistance will then be provided by the Circuit Riders to Tribes in the areas of grants management, grant reporting, grant writing, and more.

Who is the Circuit Rider for My Tribe?

The organizations listed in the table below offer Circuit Riders to assist in the IGAP/EPA grant process. Only Tribes that formally requested the organizaiton to provide them assistance are covered by the Circuit Rider funds. If you are not certain if your Tribe “signed on”, you can call the region you best fit, and ask the contact. They might still be able to offer some assistance. If not, AI-TC has offered assistance to all Tribes that don’t have a formal circuit rider.

If a Village or regional consortia also has Circuit Rider programs, AI-TC will defer to the specific Villages to provide the service or will partner with other providers to best serve the recipient Village.
