7 Generations Training
7 Generations - Aleutian/Pribilof Islands Association
is pleased to offer a valuable training opportunity to your community.
Through a special projects grant from the EPA, they are able to
provide environmental education training, specifically the 7 Generations
course to communities statewide. This course is designed to assist
rural Alaskans who want to accomplish environmental planning and
management using a community-based approach.
The course manual contains valuable tools that enable a community
to prioritize and identify its environmental issues. The manual
was written to assist communities to be more self-reliant and empowered
when identifying and solving their own environmental issues. Through
the grant, A/PIA is able to provide all costs associated with bringing
an environmental trainer to your community and training materials
for all participants. Your community would need to secure a meeting
space and provide eager participants for the training. This course
generally takes 3-4 days to complete - with a couple of field trips
(one to the water treatment facility or landfill and one to the
school if available).
